5 reasons why you have to own a dog

5 reasons why you have to own a dog

Here are 5 reasons why you humans should get a dog:

  1. Dogs do not care what you look like.
  2. Dogs make you get some exercise.
  3. Dogs do not correct your stories.
  4. Dogs do not criticise your driving.
  5. Dogs enjoy the way you sing.

What would you add to this list? I would love to hear what you think about my blog – leave me a comment on the blog, like me on facebook follow me on bloglovin’ or twoof me @rubys_rambles on Twitter.

To all the Dog Father’s…

Happy Father's Day

Father’s Day comes around once a year and in dognition of all the Dog Father’s, here are 5 reasons why us dogs have a special bond with our human Dads:

  1. We get to play ruff n tumble and have plenty of fun!
  2. HuDads and treats are the most impawtant things in our lives, although not necessarily in that order.
  3. Thanks for taking us on long walks and adventures galore.
  4. You let us lick your hands, or even lick your face – despite the fact that we may have licked ourselves in every private place.
  5. It’s okay that you blame your farts on us sometimes…

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

To my very own Dog Father: I’m so lucky because you’re my HuDad and best friend. You really are top dog Dad!

A Ruby’s Rambles announcement…

Baby Judd

That’s right I am going to be a big sister! I am getting a pet human – Baby Judd is due on the 7th October 2015 and we are all very excited by our baby news! I am looking forward to my new impawtant role, it also means there will be someone else to blame the bad smell on! HuMum is currently 14 weeks pregnant – she has gone off quite a bit of food, but she loves the cake and thinks she will probably look like a hippo towards the end!

A snowy walk on a Winter’s Day

Last month I spent the week in Snowdonia with my humans and we decided to walk a section of the Miner’s Track up Snowdon.  Ensuring the humans were wrapped up warm, off we ventured to explore the Miner’s Track and take in the breath taking views of the snowy landscape ahead of us.

From the Pen y Pass car park, we passed through a gate and followed the gentle upward sloped path. It was not long before we had mountains surrounding us.

P1020555

The first lake we passed was Llyn Teyrn – the frozen lake looked stunning set within the snowy peaks of the mountains.

P1020561

The second lake we came to was Llyn Llydaw and the panoramic view of the snowy mountains was awe-inspiring.

P1020576

P1020595

Ice was beginning to cover the path, so the humans thought it wise not to walk on any further – especially as I do not have a doggy ice axe or crampons! So we retraced our steps and headed back to the car.

BUT before we did, HuDad and I frolicked in the snow!

A dog called… Misty (also known as Tin Box Dog)

This months Ruby’s Rambles spotlight is a dog called… Misty, also known as Tin Box Dog!  Tin Box Dogs owner Claire Hall, is the human behind the blog Tin Box Traveller – a second generation caravanner blogging about travels with a husband, dog and terror tot.

A dog called Misty

Name: Misty aka Tin Box Dog
Age: 3 and 3/4
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Eye colour: Brown
Location: Hampshire mainly, but I often travel to other places in our caravan to seek out good sniffs

Who do you look up to?
“As the shortest member of my pack I strain my neck to look up to everyone – including the hairless puppy they call Tin Box Tot. However, if you’re talking about the human who I admire the most, that would have to be my HuDad. He can throw my ball really far!”

Do have any special skills or responsibilities?
“I am really good at spinning and twirling for treats. I’m also in charge of supervising meal times and picking up any food that the humans drop on the floor.”

What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done?
“I once licked the icing off of my Grandpaw’s birthday cake. I got in big trouble for that, but it was worth it – yum!”

Have you ever done anything heroic and what was it?
“Yes, I rescue sticks from the sea all the time.”

Where is your favourite place to ramble?
“As a travelling dog I have lots of favourite places to go. I’ve visited the New Forest a lot, climbed mountains in the Lake District and been for long walks in the Peak District. But my favourite place in the whole world is the beach. There’s lots of good sniffs, I always meet plenty of friends and I love to swim. My toes are webbed, don’t you know!”

What do you do that always gets your humans laughing?
“When I’m excited I like to run around the dining room table really fast. Everyone laughs and then I feel a little silly so I lick their faces!”

Thanks for talking to me Misty! It has been pawsome!  Pop over to the Tin Box Traveller blog or follow @TinBoxTraveller  on Twitter to keep up to date with Misty and her Tin Box family adventures!
